Pick up the all-new Wyze Cam Pan v2 with the Starlight sensor today.
It’s been about 3 years since the original Wyze Cam Pan hit the market at its budget price of $29 bucks. When I saw this, I had to try it and it was the very first Wyze product I ever purchased. Since then, I have been a huge Wyze fan, purchasing just about every product they have released thus far. This new updated version of the Cam Pan features the amazing Starlight sensor which gives you full color, bright night vision and a louder speaker which can also be used as an alarm siren.
The Wyze Cam Pan v2 is shipping now, and it looks pretty much like the Cam Pan v1. Like the original, the Cam Pan v2 can rotate 360 degrees and has a 93-degree vertical range. With the Cam Pan, you can set it to patrol up to four “waypoints” in real-time. It also only takes about three seconds for the cam to pan a room full circle.
Among the Cam Pan v2’s added features is automatic motion tracking, which means it will automatically pan once it detects movement in order to monitor the target. In addition, faster tracking is promised because of the new Cam Pan’s souped-up processor.
In addition to other notable features, the Cam Pan v2 brings on colored night vision with its impressive Starlight sensor, unlike the previous cam pan which used basic inferred (IR) light. The Starlight sensor is an impressive technology as it can record color video 29.6 feet away even in very dark (0.1 lux) environments. All it takes is a little light and the sensor does the rest.
There is also a “mini-siren” on the Cam Pan v2 to scare off or maybe even annoy burglars trying to break into your home. Despite the integrated speakers on both the Cam Pan v1 and v2, the new cam pan v2 has a much louder speaker which can be used as a little adorable siren. The siren can manually be triggered via the Wyze app or you can use your creative juices and set up an automation in the app.
Then of course you have the normally expected features of the Cam Pan v2 which include two-way audio, the ability to detect smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, rolling cloud storage of event videos up to 12 seconds in length, as well as local video storage on a microSD card. In addition, you can integrate Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT into your home and create some smart ass routines.
As far as price, well, it is $10 bucks more ($39.99) than the original cam pan. Why? Well, the starlight sensor and silicon chip shortages are to blame. But still, this extra $10 bucks still makes the Wyze Cam Pan V2 a hell of a great deal.
