YouTube is finally bringing picture-in-picture mode to YouTube TV on iOS. This has been a long time coming.

We all know what picture-in-picture mode is. Android has had it for a long time. It’s a great feature to have when you want to browse around without being locked to YouTube.

Well, the day has come for iOS users. YouTube announced on the vergecast that the new picture-in-picture mode will arrive for YouTube TV on iOS 15 or newer devices. This was brought to light by YouTube Chief Product Officer Neal Mohan.

In case you don’t know, picture-in-picture mode allows the user to browse around without being locked down to the YouTube TV app. Now, you can leave the app and a new picture-in-picture window will open, keeping your TV app in view. This is a huge feature that once you use it, you just can’t live without.

Similar to the YouTube app’s picture-in-picture mode, you can leave the app, load up Twitter, Facebook etc without missing a thing. Apple users are definitely happy about this one as Google has lagged on bringing this picture-in-picture feature to the iOS masses. So it’s a welcomed one here.

The new picture-in-picture mode should be rolling out to iOS users soon. So be on the lookout!
